I made it back to the “Prairies” from my whirlwind weekend at “The Coast”.

My cousins that live on Vancouver Island always called Saskatchewan the Prairies and we called B.C. The Coast.

We had a great trip out to visit and to attend a wedding wedding of a cousin. Everywhere we went was so beautiful.  Two cousins live right on the river in Lake Cowichan and many of them have beautiful green yards with lush flowers and gardens.  I had just planted my 8 tomatoes and 3 pots just before I left, hardly comparable! One cousin’s yard backs on to a dairy farm and train track, so as you look out you see beautiful black and white cows and maybe a passenger train!  I love to visit there, but they love to come here just as much and they love all of the sunshine that we get all through the year.  Not so much this year I guess, but still more than they get.

We spent the first day of our vacation in Vancouver, touring the sites.  Our first stop was Vancouver Aquarium, a place I have loved since I went when I was 7.  There are no longer killer whales there, but there are belugas cheap bridesmaid headpieces , otters, seals, dolphins and many, many kinds of fish, bugs, birds, animals, plants and insects.  Many that are beautiful and just as many that are creepy!   Mori Lee features wedding dresses and gowns, bridal and prom dresses , quinceanera gowns, cocktail, formal and bridesmaid dresses, homecoming dressesI know Grant tired of hearing me yell across the crowds bridesmaid dresses purple australia bridesmaid dresses purple australia, “Delaney, come look at this!” But he put up with me and we tried our best to get a look at every item in the place.

Next up was a walking tour of downtown Vancouver.  It was a trip of first for Delaney.  First plane ride, first cupcake from a “cupcake store”, first hot dog from a vendor, first taxi ride. . . that was just the first 8 hours.  We wandered around the city just as game 5 of the Stanley Cup playoffs was about to begin.  We made our way down to the site of the outdoor screen where we watched part of the game with thousands of other people.  It was awesome to be a part of the atmosphere that existed in Vancouver that night.  After the win, the screaming, honking and high fiving continued for hours.

I was certainly very happy to not have been downtown on Wednesday night when the Canucks lost game 7 to the Boston Bruins.  It was frightening to watch the violence on tv that erupted after the loss, in the very place we were standing with our daughter.  I do not understand the violence and I was embarrassed for our country and a city that showed us a great time only a few nights before. 

But on a happy note, we, along with my sister Della and her husband Dan, evening dress sale evening dress sale had a great time on the island visiting and touring around.  We visited quite a few of my cousins that probably number near 100!
