For her spring ready-to-wear collection, she wanted to bring the riches of her fancier clothes into her more casual clothes, and she's done it with prints: A vintage jewel print, for example, on a silk sheath dress. Or a mineral print. Or a kaleidoscope print.

"It's all about the prints this year," she said backstage before she debuted her collection Monday.

The show began with an oxidized animal print on a one-shoulder dress — something Wilma Flintstone might have worn if she had a superb tailor. It went on to mineral prints a line dress , such as one on a silk charmeuse sheath with a jeweled side clasp. And a kaleidoscope design on a pencil skirt.

This being Reem Acra, materials were sumptuous. Appearing in both off-white and ebony, the jacket was encrusted with crystals and shown with a satin cigarette pant in one instance, a Deco beaded dress in another.

Some garments relied on a simple touch. An iridescent silk draped dress was more basic but had a nice shimmer. A shell leather belted sheath dress was a fun look for daytime.

It was back to old-style glamour at the end, though, with the golden lime tulle embroidered V-neck gown that closed the show. With its delicate plunge in front and a subtle slit in back, this dress was ready for its Oscar close-up.
