Did you have a certain style in mind when you started your search for a dress,
I was all over the map.  I looked at satin, lace, organza, a-line, empire, princess, mermaid.  dresses for a summer wedding ; The only things I knew were that I wanted sleeveless, ivory and minimal embellishments.  I prefer simple and elegant, rather than heavily adorned. 

What made you decide on your Vera Wang gown,
There were so many little details that I loved about my dress.  From the delicate layering of lace, tulle and organza, to the gentle sweetheart neckline with just a bit of sheer organza slipping above it, to the laser-cut lace (I sometimes use a laser cutter to make my architectural models and this similarity struck a cord) which gave a level of complexity and uniqueness to the dress without being over-the-top.  But at the end of the day, it was the way I felt in it, if fit my shorter frame beautifully and it was both romantic and timeless.

Did you bring anyone along dress shopping, If so, did their opinions influence your final decision,

How did you accessorize to make your wedding wedding day outfit unique,
Since the neckline was so beautiful I didn’t want to take away from it with a necklace.  informal bridesmaid dresses ; I knew I would be wearing my hair up since the wedding was in Texas in June, so I chose a dangle earring; a single pearl on a thin gold chain.  These were a gift from my husband.  As my something borrowed, I wore my mother’s pearl bracelet.  I found an ivory, magnolia hair clip on etsy.com that, even though it was a fabric flower, you would never know it wasn’t real.  Finally, I splurged on some Christian Louboutin navy satin shoes as my something blue, which was also one of our wedding colors.

What was the inspiration or theme for your wedding,
I am an architect and my husband was a history major so we were inspired by the venues we selected.  The first venue was an estate built in 1916 with a villa and gardens, where the hors d’oeuvres and ceremony took place.  beach bridal dresses The second venue was a historic landmark hotel built in 1886.  We used the original architectural drawings of the villa and incorporated them into the background of our program.  Our menu, which as foodies was a top priority, was inspired by the Mediterranean aesthetics of the villa, as well as using seasonal ingredients.  Finally, we both love France and chose to include little details inspired by French culture throughout the wedding, from the flower-pin gifts with French phrases at each place setting, to the bistro furniture in the cocktail areas, to the French macaroons served during dessert.  By the end of the planning phase (which lasted almost a year and a half), my planner and I had finally settled on this descriptive phrase for my wedding “theme” – “French vintage with pops of modern”.  

Did your gown style relate to any other design elements of the wedding,
I think the romantic, timeless quality of the dress was carried throughout the wedding.

What was your favorite part of the day,
The ceremony.  We were married under a chuppah, and it is tradition for the parents to stand under the chuppah with the bride and groom.  My sister was my maid-of-honor so she stood with us as well.  It was an amazing feeling, standing hand-in-hand with the person I am going to spend the rest of my life with and having my family right there with me.  It gave an intimate feeling to the ceremony that was so emotionally overwhelming and wonderful for me.   

What tips do you have for new brides picking out their wedding dress ,
Don’t give up,  I visited nine different bridal salons and was convinced that the cliché “you will know it when you see it” was either a complete lie or simply didn’t apply to me, but in the end I did have an emotional reaction to my dress.  wedding dresses 2012 wedding dresses 2012

Are there any other anecdotes you’d like to share,
It was such an amazing day, unlike any other I have experienced.  I think a memory that captures it best was a moment on the dance floor when I was swaying in the arms of my husband, Abe, amidst dozens of dancing family members and friends.  As my gaze slowly spun around the room, all I could see where the smiling faces of the people I love and care about most in this world.  My heart was overflowing with joy and love It's why there are some women out bridesmaid gowns there who can just make Cocktail dresses customizing look outstanding no matter what style or fashion it happens to be., and it was a feeling I will never forget.
